When you’re clear on your strategy, you know where you are now. You know where you are heading. And you know how you’re going to get there.

The Creative Cloud of Fog

Often, as creative people we love to imagine, design, create and visualise. We try to get everything perfect. After all, we have a sense of pride in all that we do. However, sometimes we come across the ‘creative cloud of fog’ that hides clarity. We start to get lost in our creative process and no longer see outside of that. We struggle to see where we’re going. Our brand and our strategy is no longer clear.

Step Back

Stepping back and reminding ourselves to get clear on what we’re doing and why we’re doing it can really help to focus our creative efforts and get better results.

Take a ‘creative breathing space’ (there will be a blog on this coming up soon), make a cup of tea, go for a short walk, scenic drive. Whatever you choose, go for something that brings you back from your head and into the present. Back into the room. Where you are NOW.

Define Your Brand

What defines YOUR brand? Do you have a personal brand? A business brand?

Be clear on what it is that makes up your brand. What does it stand for? What is it’s purpose?

Resonate With Your Brand

Does your brand resonate with YOU? Are you clear on why it resonates with you? Whether it’s a personal brand and/or your business brand, if you can’t connect to it – no one else can either.  It’s your connection with your brand that gives it an identity.

Be Clear on Your Strategy

Your strategy is how you move from your current position to the one you have envisioned. Are you clear on where you are now and how you’re going to progress to your vision?
